LEPI THE BUTTERFLY

Unique in a series of insect art cars, Lepi (short for Lepidoptera, the scientific order of butterflies) was built from the ground up as a ridable, motorized insect. Though built from scratch, various design elements were repurposed. For example, the eyes were copied from the Now-A-Saurus, which was Merrick Industries’ debut project. New features include multiple gears, which gives Lepi forward/backward mobility, and suspension, which enables Lepi to safely carry 3-4 people.
